• Jan D’Alessandro, Founder and President
Jan D’Alessandro leads the Collective’s West Coast initiatives, providing introductions to potential investors and strategic partners, as well as expert strategic and legal assistance sourcing, drafting and negotiating partnerships across the media, entertainment and technology sectors. Jan is based in SF and has deep connections in SF, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and New York. She is a seasoned digital media industry executive who has held leadership positions at AOL, Yahoo, Topspin Media (acquired by Apple), The Find (acquired by Facebook), Meez and Place (founded by Lady Gaga). She ran West coast business affairs for AOL from 1995 to 2002 where her responsibilities included developing AOL's music strategy, including the acquisitions of Spinner and Nullsoft, leading many content, commerce and technology deals, and launching the philanthropy portal, networkforgood. As Vice President Business Development and General Counsel at several Bay Area venture-backed companies and as Head of Business Development for Yahoo Sports, Entertainment and Lifestyles, Jan has sourced, negotiated and closed hundreds of strategic partnerships across media, entertainment and technology sectors. She began her career as a law associate at White & Case in New York and then Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco and Palo Alto. Jan received her J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and her A.B. in English and American Literature from Brown University.

• Jimmy Chamberlin, Founder and CEO
Jimmy Chamberlin lives in Chicago and heads up the Collectives Chicago based initiatives.
Jimmy is a Grammy Award winning musician, writer, producer, and educator. He is a founding member of the Smashing Pumpkins and the band’s highly acclaimed drummer for over 20 years. In addition to his role as a musician, he helped to develop the band’s long term strategy and ran the band’s global touring business. In 2010 he brought his skills and observations related to culture, entertainment, and business to the tech community in Chicago as an investor, mentor and entrepreneur. From 2011 to 2015, he served as the CEO of LiveOne Inc.- an audience engagement and data analytics company focused exclusively on transforming the way live online video content is consumed and monetized around the world. Under his leadership – the company experienced 300% Y/Y growth and grew to be recognized as the final word on engagement around digital content. He has 30+ years of intact relationships in the Music, Entertainment, and Tech space - and the industry knowledge to make sussessful connections for individuals and businesses.
JImmy is also a successful public speaker and educator - speaking engagments include SXSW, Web Summit, Kellogg School of Mgmt, SF Music and Tech, Univ. of Illinois, Illinois State Univ., This Week in Statups, Start-Up Grind, Pando, Fast Company, DEW, CMO Club, 1871, Northwestern University and many others.
He is also a member of World Business Chicago, Dept. of Cultural Affairs, and sits on the Board of Trustees for Columbia College Chicago.
